Her curse: At sixteen, the girl will prick her finger on a spindle from a spinning wheel and fall to sleep for 100 years. Despite her father’s efforts to have all spinning wheels bannished, the Fairy returns and intrigues the girl with a contraption she has never seen. Unable to resist touching it, she falls asleep and only the kiss of a prince will awaken her.
